Hey there everyone ! Quick post again this evening as I've got to get back to work, but I figured I may as well post my quick manicure I did earlier this evening whilst taking a break from staring at my laptop working ! You may have seen the swatch I posted of an Essie polish I bought at the weekend, and instead of doing something brand new on my nails, I just added to what I already had on !
I generally avoid tape manicures seeing as I'm always too impatient for the base colour to dry enough for me to tape on top of it, but seeing as the base had had a whole day to dry I figured it'd be a quick way to spruce up my nails ! I really love the sharp lines that taping gives to the chevrons in this manicure !
So the two polishes I used for this manicure were Essie Lapiz of Luxury seeing as I swatched it yesterday, and then the chevrons were done using Barry M Silver Foil. For the chevrons I used two different pieces of tape and positioned them into the right shaped triangles, I find that cutting a triangle into the tape doesn't work for me at all !
I hope you all like this design ! I think I'm going to start doing tape manicures more often now that I'm getting into swatching more of my nail varnishes ! I really do love how quick it is to do, and it's a great way to counteract tip wear !
See you all soon guys ! Have a great day tomorrow !

Swatch : GOSH - Holographic Hero
Good evening everybody ! So as promised, in today's final scheduled post (I'm back at uni tomorrow, so that means normal posting) I have an awesome swatch for you all ! I've never really understood the hype about holographic polishes, I mean I saw swatches of different holos on the internet and everything and I thought the rainbow effect you could see was just an efect from the light during the photographing, and that it would just look like a normal shimmer polish all the rest of the time, but I hereby stand corrected !
I never really contemplated really searching for GOSH Holographic, as like I said, holos had never really intrigued me, but when I went into Superdrug when I first arrived here for coming to uni to go and pick up a bottle of MaxFactor Fantasy Fire, I spotted the holo polish and decided I really ought to give it a try.
Honestly I have to admit that I'm rather impressed with this polish ! I totally understand the hype around it, as they discontinued it for a while due to complaints about the bad formula and it got pretty expensive for buying off the internet from the few lucky people who had already picked up a bottle. Luckily for us, they've brought it back out with a notice saying that it really is just for "one night", so as to have an excuse for early wear !
I did these swatches without base coat or top coat, as I heard it can ruin the holo effect ! I did putting some Seche Vite over a nail after I'd done the photos for my post, just to compare the effects on the different nails, and honestly I really couldn't see any different in the holo-ness, it still looked just as pretty, dragged a bit on the polish underneath maybe, but nothing noticeable !
And that's it for the scheduled posts this weekend everyone ! Make sure you come along tomorrow, as I'll be celebrating my 100th POST ! Woah ! How did that even happen ? That means it's been 100 days since I first launched this blog, which is amazing ! Just goes to show how quickly time flies when you're having fun blogging !

As Seen On : Mr Candiipants
So at this current moment I am on holiday in Cologne (and will be for
the next few days), so I've got a whole 6 days of scheduled posts for
you, as part of an "As Seen On..." series. So from Monday to Saturday,
I'll be featuring some of the very first nail blogs I started reading,
bloggers who inspired me to start my very own nail art blog, and
re-creating one of their manicures for each day of this series !
Hey there everyone ! So here we go for day five of my scheduled posts, and today I'm featuring someone very special ! Now the surprise has already probably been spoiled by the title, but just in case you didn't read it, today's post is dedicated to Candice from Mr Candiipants ! Candice is super famous in the tumblr world, but she also has a blogspot where she writes loaaaaads more which is great ! So, on to the nails...
Candice has potsed two different koi fish manicures on her tumblr, one from just after she'd started blogging, and again a few months later. She also did a tutorial for the design which is what I used for creating these nails ! I didn't have any of the same polishes as what Candice used for her original designs, so I improvised with colours I already owned to create the same effect.
For the design the polishes I used were P2 Who Cares ? for the base, for the bubbles I used Barry M Silver Foil and then for the fish I used OPI Alpine Snow, OPI My Back Pocket and my Models Own Wah Nails nail art pen in black. Needless to say, Candice's koi fish look waaaaaay better than mine, but I was quite pleased with how they turned out ! I really need to practise more with my nail art brush so I can get better at details !
So that's it for today ! I can't believe there's only one day left in this series ! But not to worry, I've got another series lined up for you in just over a week ! Hope you enjoyed today's post, and I hope you have a great day !

15 Day Nail Challenge (Day 11) : Metallic
Hey guys ! So once again I'm joining in for another day of Makeup Savvy's 15 day nail challenge, and the theme today is metallic nails. Now, I'm not really a fan of metallic nail polishes, mainly because they show up all the imperfections on my nails (you can probably see the tissue reparations I've done on my index and ring fingers), but nonetheless, I'm still joining in !
So I decided today I'd attempt a selotape manicure for the chevrons, but promptly gave up after completely messing up my index finger ! So instead I freehanded them, which all in all looks okay but is far less precise than selotape. The final result is okay, but I don't really like it enough to keep it for a whole day, so I'll think I'll actually change them after I've written this post !
So in this manicure I used a magnetic polish (seeing as I own very few metallic colours) which was 17 Magnetic Grey, and then for the chevrons I used Barry M Silver Foil. I was originally going to do some stamping for this manicure, but then realised that my nails are far too long at the moment for stamping (I really need to file them down) !
And that's a wrap ! I hope you liked this manicure more than I did, I'm off to change them now. Happy Saturday !
